Het ontwerp bevat een klassiek streepdesign dat na enkele jaren opnieuw hun rentree maken. Het kleurverloop tussen de kleuren blauw en wit zijn geïnspireerd op de shirts uit het verleden. De toevoeging van laser cuts zorgen dan weer voor een moderne look en en een ontspannen gevoel. Er werd gekozen voor een witte, opgerolde kraag, opnieuw een subtiele verwijzing naar de glorietijden van La Gantoise.

De blauwe accenten zijn opnieuw toegevoegd en verwijzen naar de trotse thuiskleuren.

90-jarige ex-Rode Duivel Richard Orlans krijgt eigen boek: de ‘Gentse Hazewind’ voetbalde nog tegen Pélé en Di Stefano
Op de vooravond van de Europese wedstrijd tussen AA Gent en Famagusta werd in de Ghelamco Arena het boek “Richard Orlans - de Gentse Hazewind” voorgesteld. Het werkstuk van Stefan Van Loock is 144 bladzijden dik en telt naast 14 hoofdstukken een pak foto’s van de ex-Rode Duivel (21 caps, 5 goals) en oud-speler van Anderlecht, Cercle Brugge en natuurlijk La Gantoise.
“‘De Gentse Hazewind’ wordt op 6 oktober 90 jaar. Het moment om een boek over hem uit te brengen dacht de familie. Als auteur sprak men Stefan van Loock aan, oud-journalist en momenteel persverantwoordelijke van de KBVB. “Ik kreeg de vraag zo’n twee jaar terug van Patrick Orlans, de zoon van Richard. Zo zijn we samen gaan werken en stelde ik het boek samen aan de hand van 14 hoofdstukken, waaronder de match België-Hongarije, de Belgische militaire ploeg, de passage bij de Rode Duivels, Anderlecht en de eerste aansluitingskaart van Richard om er nog maar enkele op te noemen”, zegt Van Loock.
Tegen Pélé en Di Stefano gevoetbald
“Natuurlijk is het een hele eer dat er een boek over mij geschreven wordt”, verklaarde Richard Orlans zelf. “Ik ben enkele jaren geleden, als geheugengymnastiek, mijn mémoires beginnen opschrijven. Dat die ooit in boekvorm zouden gegoten worden, dankzij Van Loock en mijn kinderen, had ik nooit verwacht. Als je jong bent vind je echter alles normaal. Als 16-jarige debuteren bij Gantoise, meer dan 15 jaar in eerste klasse spelen, Rode Duivel worden, tegen Pélé en Di Stefano voetballen, met Anderlecht het grote Real Madrid uitschakelen en in je eentje Puskas en de Hongaren, die vicewereldkampioen waren, naar huis spelen met 5-4. Schitterende levensmomenten allemaal vastgelegd in een mooi boek.”
Op de boekvoorstelling tekenden een pak voetbalcoryfeeën present, onder wie Paul Van Himst, Jef Jurion, Michel Verschueren en Gilbert De Groote.
